Where: South Straub Park, facing Beach Drive in downtown St. Petersburg
Expected attendance: 5,000+ local consumers and visitors, plus 125 exhibitors (local businesses, local nonprofits and other community organizations)

About the event Every year, LocalShops1 kicks off the holiday shopping season by bringing together the area’s best businesses and nonprofits in a community celebration of all things local. Our biggest event of the year, now in its sixth year, lets you tap into the community’s energy and shows your committment to small business. Shopapalooza brings together local shops, restaurants and art galleries offering special Black Friday-type deals, raffles and giveaways, new holiday merchandise and more. This family-friendly city-sponsored event features local entertainers, a children’s area organized and sponsored by Great Explorations Children’s Museum, and 125 independent businesses.

The event draws this year doubled and will take place the Saturday before Thanksgiving as well as the Saturday after Thanksgiving (aka Small Business Saturday). More than 5,000 consumers are expected each day, for a total attendance of more than 10,000. Event marketing includes print ads in local publications; thousands of promotional fliers and posters at local  businesses; direct mail pieces; and an extensive digital and social media marketing campaign, reaching tens of thousands on our email lists and social media pages. The event is also heavily promoted by our partnering organizations, vendors and nonprofit beneficiaries.
